The Festival of Writing 2015, run by Writers’ Workshop, is a full weekend of writing workshops, one-to-one meetings with agents and book doctors, competitions and plenty of opportunities to meet new people, from fellow writers to industry professionals who can make a real difference to a writer’s life. It certainly did for authors Shelley Harris and Jo Cannon. Peggy Riley blogged the whole weekend, and here are links to the most helpful workshops she attended, starting with Shelley Harris’ “The Shark and the Iceberg”, on tackling backstory, “Historical Fiction” with Emma Darwin, and “On Theme” with Julie Cohen. Would such a festival make a difference to your writing? Our next post will talk about just that. Stay tuned!
