Our Daily Writing Resolutions – 1st January 2016

Welcome to the Prime Writers’ Daily Writing Resolutions. Every day in January we are going to feature a real writing goal that one of the Prime Writers is working on this year.

The first to take a plunge is Jane Lythell, author of After The Storm, who says:

‘Set myself the target of writing a specific scene each morning rather than submitting to the tyranny of a daily word count.  I am not a quick writer and I used to torment myself with having to achieve a certain number of words each day. This just made me anxious. Then I read the tip to aim to write a scene instead. Much better. Doesn’t matter if the scene is 300 or 900 words long. It is the integrity of the scene that matters. I do this now and it works for me.’
