Our Daily Writing Resolutions – 16th January 2016

The Prime Writers’ Daily Writing Resolutions: each day in January we are featuring a real writing goal that one of the Prime Writers is working on this year.

No-Internet-sign

Today’s resolution is from Louisa Treger, author of The Lodger:

‘In order to fully immerse myself in the writing zone, I am going to switch off the internet until my writing is done for the day, otherwise I find myself thinking about my next tweet instead of what my characters are thinking and doing.’

  1. It is a great idea to de-technologize now and again. It took a while but I found deciding to turn-off the media or just to ignore it really aids in productivity. It is so “easy” to get sucked into the abyss of Tweeting or Facebooking because . . . it’s fun! The characters I engage are so marvelous on social media but you learn to say no. Bravo to you!
