A literary response to the refugee crisis

As the refugee crisis continues,  the imminent publication of a new anthology of writing – featuring Prime Writer Tim Finch – is timely.  A Country of Refuge, edited by Lucy Popescu and featuring contributions from, among others, Sebastian Barry, William Boyd, Stephen Kelman,  A.L Kennedy, Hanif Kureshi, Marina Lewycka and Rose Tremain, is a collection of newly commissioned fiction, memoir, poetry and essays, which aims to give a different perspective on why people are forced to flee their homelands, the struggles they face to find safety and the difficulties – and joys – of building a new life in another country.  The collection is published by Unbound and will be launched at the National Theatre in London on Friday June 10th – check out the website here for further details.
