Biography:
Keith Mansfield always wanted to be an astronaut … and a footballer … and to win the Nobel Prize for Physics. He may be accused of lacking focus, but not ambition.
Ineligible for NASA, his most recent application to the European Space Agency was rejected in favour of Major Tim Peake. The successful trial he had with Derby County only won him a place in their supporters’ team. And, although he has published books by some of the world’s greatest scientists (including Nobel Laureates), his own grand unified theory of physics remains frustratingly incomplete.
His series of Johnny Mackintosh books allows him to live out his fantasies, while saving the Universe at the same time. When not making up stories he’s written music and entertainment programmes for ITV, published books for the British Film Institute and created exhibitions for the Science Museum. Currently, he publishes science books for Oxford University Press.
During his first millennium, he would like to be remembered for his breakthrough work on an anti-gravity device, faster-than-light travel, alien diplomacy and curing aging. And also for penning some entertaining, inspiring and thought-provoking books and screenplays.
